I noticed Joni's name as the writer on a song on the first Fairport convention album..
Its a truly beautiful album from cover to content. A heart achingly cosmic magical journey that peaks in the final song "cactus tree", now I have been literally moved to tears by cactus tree on more than a few occasions. On the other hand moved to overwhelming joy by "Night in the city" I remember listening to that song on a balmy New York night through headphones as I walked back from a Donovan concert, The base line is so epic.
Moving is the best description of this album by far her best, Clouds is quite good and some of the others are ok but this debut stands head and shoulders above her later work! (this album is on here in playlists but I know that can be a wind up so here it is in full)
